Busy Bees

There's a lot going on these days and I always seem to be behind. But, here's a little of what's been happening.

Last Thursday's Appointments
I had my last ultrasound last Thursday. I really don't enjoy those, so I'm not too sad about it. Our baby girl now weighs 6 pounds and 4 ounces. (Andrew weighed 6 pounds 5 ounces at birth.) Everything looks good and her measurements are right on task.

After the ultrasound, I had a doctor's appointment. I had lost another pound, my blood pressure was great, no problems at all. We're still on track for a July 7 delivery. My next appointment is tomorrow, June 23.

Saturday's Baby Shower
A few of my friends and family had a shower for us in Rutherfordton on Saturday. We received several very nice gifts and had a great time.

Father's Day
After church, we had lunch with my dad and then the rest of the day was William's choice. He wanted to ride through Saluda on the way home, so we did. That's a neat little area. Then we made a couple of stops and went to dinner at Carabbas.

Today's Baby Shower
Tonight I'm having dinner with a few friends at Cheddar's in Asheville. I think it will be a nice change from the traditional baby shower and I'm looking forward to some yummy food. I didn't get a lot of good pictures from this shower. To be honest, William messes with the setting every time he gets his hands on our camera and I can't ever remember to check them until it's too late!

A Quick Update

Andrew

Today was Andrew's 3-year wellness check. He measured 38 1/2 inches and weighed 42 pounds. His iron and cholesterol checked out great, as did his blood pressure and general exam. He didn't get any shots today, thankfully. But he did have his finger pricked, which didn't phase him at all.

Baby Girl

I go tomorrow for an ultrasound and doctor's appointment. This will be my first weekly visit. I'll go again next Tuesday. I do think the baby has dropped, but I'm not sure. Andrew never did drop, so I'm not going on experience.

Other News

Derick and Leann's wedding was last weekend. Everything was beautiful. The pictures I took didn't turn out so great but I'm hoping to get a couple of good ones to post soon. Here's one of the better ones I did get, and a few of Andrew too. :)

We're Seeing Pink!

07.07.09 - Exactly one month until Baby Girl is here!


Today, the ladies of the church hosted a baby shower for me and the two other girls who are due to have babies in July. I received a lot of nice things - everything from diapers to bottles to sleepers galore.

Doctor Appointments

My May 21 ultrasound and doctor's appointment went well. Baby Girl (yes, it's still a girl!) weighed 3 pounds and 14 ounces, I lost 4 more pounds, my blood pressure and everything else checked out just perfect. We're still on track for a July 7 delivery.

My last appointment was last Tuesday, June 2. No weight gain or loss on my part, my blood pressure was great, everything's moving right along.

My next appointment in June 18. I'll have another ultrasound followed by a doctor's visit. After that visit, I'll start weekly appointments beginning with an appointment on June 23.

While I was at the doctor, William stayed home with Andrew and experienced quite a storm. As I turned onto our road, it looked like it had snowed in Fairview! William took a few pictures of the hail as Andrew begged to go out and play in the water. Too bad he doesn't feel like that come bath time!

Other Baby Stuff

Baby Girl will be here in a little over 5 weeks. We do have a few names picked out but we can't decide, or maybe I should say agree, on what to name her. We think we may wait to see her and pick from our list then. We have a boy's name picked out too, just in case. :)

The nursery is painted but we still have to move some furniture out before the room is ready. We're using lots of lavender, pink, and green and are trying to go with a butterfly theme.

We have a baby shower at church this Sunday and a couple more planned for later this month. We've learned a lot since having Andrew and have a few items on our wish list that we look back now and wish we had for him.

Next Week

We have a buys week ahead. Next Wednesday is William's birthday, Friday is the rehearsal dinner for my brother's wedding, and Saturday is the wedding. We don't have any plans for William's birthday but hopefully we'll find time to celebrate soon!

Happy Birthday Andrew!

Andrew turned 3 on May 19. It's hard to believe how fast he's growing. On Sunday, May 17 we had a birthday party for him. It was at his Uncle Chubb and Aunt Jo-Jo's house and since they have lots of cows, we opted for a barnyard theme. We had lots of fun things planned, including a hay ride for the kids. But, the never-ending rain put a stop to that.

On Andrew's actual birthday we took him to the Fun Depot. We had dinner and then set him loose to play. This was the first time we let him play in the "big kid" area and he loved it. Of course, the biggest kid I know (Daddy!) enjoyed playing too.

I've never posted video before, and the second on is a little long, but since Grandpa and Grandma Hoffart are in El Salvador, we thought they might like to see how well Andrew did blowing out his candle. He even waited until the song was over to do it! Of course, since our camera doesn't record sound, you'll have to trust me on that. :)
