Life Lessons

06.30.2010

My son is an amazing little boy. He has taught me a lot over the past 4 years and with each day that passes, I actually find myself wanting to more like him. He's a very patient and caring person. He's independent and strong. He's sensitive. He's brilliant. He's everything I could ever want in a 4-year-old son.

I love to watch Andrew with Megan. He wants to teach her things. He loves to hold her. He loves to feed her. He always kisses her goodnight. He's a wonderful big brother.

Yesterday we went to Sam's Club. A little girl came up and was asking about Megan's hair bow (that we somehow managed to loose before we made it back out to the van). I'm not sure if Andrew did this out of pride or out of protection, but he put his arm around Megan and pulled her real close. He loves his baby sister. And she loves him too.

Andrew rarely has to be disciplined. He never gets upset if you tell him he can't do something. He's oblivious to the bad and seeks out the good. I want to be more like him. I want to be more patient, more understanding and less stressed and worrisome. I want to appreciate the things I have instead of wishing for things I don't even need.

Andrew teaches me something new everyday. I love him more with each day that passes, if that's even possible. He is precious in every way.
