Week of 01.01.2011
Whew, what a year. And we're not even a week into it! I hope the last few days are no indication of how the rest of the year is going to be. I don't feel like I've even had time to breathe.
On Saturday (Jan 1), Megan busted her lip. She fell in the laundry room. William swooped her up and took her to the car (we were on our way out the door anyway) and when I settled in, I noticed blood all over her lips. It swelled a little, but she was a real trooper about it.
On Sunday, both of my kids acted as if they had never been to church before. Megan would not stay still, nothing we gave her pleased her and she let everyone know by throwing things left and right as hard as she possible could. She pulled my hair, she whined a little, she kicked the people in front of us. I'm confident most everyone on our side of the church was complete distracted by her and I'm quite embarrassed about it. And as I tried to calm her, Andrew was in the floor playing, or laying on the pew whining, or talking out loud when he shouldn't be. It was an exhausting service for me.
On Monday, my dad had to leave work with severe back pain. We ended up taking him to Urgent Care. They sent him for an MRI at the hospital. The results indicated he had a kidney stone but they believed he had already passed it. They could see the path of the stone but not the stone itself. They sent him home with some pain medication and the hopes he'd feel better soon.
On Tuesday, Megan gave herself a black eye. She was sitting on top of one of her toys and fell off and hit another one with her face. She fussed a little and immediately had a knot just under her eye socket. I was afraid she had broken a bone or something, but since she didn't seem sensitive to it when I touched it, I decided it might be okay. Today it's a little blue. Poor thing.
And today (Wednesday), my dad had to go back to Urgent Care because he was still having some pretty intense pain. They sent him to the ER. He ended up having a CT Scan which showed the kidney stone has not yet passed and he has an infection. So, they gave him antibiotics for the infection and if the stone doesn't pass in the next couple of days, he'll have to go back for "help" with that.
I don't have any plans to leave the house again until the weekend. I'm hoping Megan won't try anymore circus acts. It's funny how daring she is. Andrew is the exact opposite. He's very aware of every move he makes and has no problem taking his time if he's trying something new. Megan just throws everything she has into it!
Now if only I could go take a nap...
