Breaking the Rules

So, I've not updated this blog in a while.  And to be honest, it's because the camera is in the van and I'm just lazy enough not to want to go out and get it.  Really?  Really.  I'm just that lazy.

It's silly.  I feel like I can't make a blog entry without a picture.  Like, it's part of the "rules."

Well, today, I'm breaking the rules.  And I promise nothing other than that this blog entry will be completely random.  Here we go...

The weather has been beautiful the last few days.  It's so nice to wake up and see the sun shine.  There have been several days when I've been able to open the windows and it's so refreshing!  I'm hoping this weekend will be warm so maybe we can go outside and play.  William has the weekend off and I love the idea of spending time outside as a family.  (This dream will end soon.  I'm not a fan of the outdoors when the weather turns HOT.)

Last Friday was the one year anniversary of my Pop's passing.  I can't believe it's been a year.  I think about him daily and still cry tears for him, but I do know he's in Heaven and is rid of all his pains and frustrations.

My brother's birthday is this weekend.  Have I told you lately how stinkin' cute his daughter is?  My little niece Kensie is quickly approaching 5 months old and I swear she's more adorable each time I see her!

My brother and his wife, Leann, are great parents.  I love watching them interact with Kensie.  Leann is a great nurturer and Derick is a great protector.  And they're both completely in love with their little beauty.

My little Megan is hilarious. She makes me laugh, a lot.  Last night, we were watching American Idol and she decided to put on her own little performance.  She's extend her arms out like she was expressing herself (much like the contestants were doing) and flung her head back a few times.  She even took a bow.  And all along, she kept cutting her eyes to the side to make sure I was watching.  I think that's what I found most entertaining.  She also took a tiara off one of her Disney baby dolls and decided her Penguin needed to be dolled up.  After that, she gathered all her stuffed animals, baby dolls, etc. and put then in a corner.  I couldn't tell if they were in trouble or what, but she had a lot to say to them and man was it funny!

Andrew had discovered the joy of spelling.  He spells e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g.  He writes words on his chalk board or spells them out with the magnets of the fridge almost all day long.

Our niece, Caroline, took her first steps this week.  I can't wait to see her walk.  She and Megan are so close in age (a little over five months apart), I'm sure they'll grow up being the best of friends - at least I hope so!
I'm sure they're much more I could share, but I better save that for a later post.  I hope the sun is shining where you are!

(PS - I tried to bullet point my random thoughts but for some reason, it wouldn't work.  I often have problems with formatting on this site.  Maybe I'll think to go back and try again later.  I've already let the lack of bullet points hold up this post for two days now...you know, 'cause it's part of the "rules.")
