Okay, so I realize I should have taken Andrew to the dentist a couple of years ago, but it's not something I've been looking forward to so it wasn't at the top of my "to do" list. But, as with most everything else I say I do, I knew I needed to put Andrew first and just do it. So, I made him an appointment with a pediatric dentist and was so, so very happy with how things went.
Andrew loved the waiting room. There were lots of toys, video games, etc. and kids too, of course! When we made it back to the exam room, he wasn't as excited. A week prior, he went for his 4-year wellness check (note to self: blog about 4-year wellness check) and since that visit to the doctor required shots, he wasn't ready to go through that again. But, a few toys and a new toothbrush convinced him to stay. He did really well and I just adored the hygienist. She was so patient with him and so reassuring to me. The dentist, Dr. Angie, was great too. And as an added bonus, ELMO came to visit Andrew because he was such a good patient.
Dr. Angie said Andrew's teeth look great - no cavities, perfect spacing, no problems at all. I was so proud. Andrew was proud, too and oh so thrilled when he was given his very own t-shirt and balloon.
